This Cookie Policy explains how Dika Design Ltd ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on dika.design (the "website"), in every language version of the site. It applies to visitors in the United Kingdom, the European Union and elsewhere.
1. What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage or a script that reads information from your device, work in a comparable way. In this policy we call all of them "cookies".
2. How we use cookies
Cookies on the website fall into four categories. You choose the optional ones in the cookie banner:
- Necessary (always on): keep the website secure, protect the forms against bots, and remember the language and theme you choose and your cookie choice. They do not need consent.
- Statistics (only with your consent): Google Analytics counts visits, popular pages and where visitors come from, in aggregate.
- Experience (only with your consent): Microsoft Clarity shows heatmaps and anonymised session replays, so we can see where pages are hard to use.
- Marketing: not used. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell information about your visit.
3. Necessary cookies
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| dd-consent | dika.design | Stores whether you allowed or rejected analytics cookies. | 6 months |
| dd-lang | dika.design | Remembers the language you chose in the language menu. | 12 months |
| dd-theme (local storage) | dika.design | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. | Until you clear it |
| __cf_bm, cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Protects the website and its forms against bots and abuse (Cloudflare and Cloudflare Turnstile). | 30 minutes to 1 year |
4. Statistics and experience cookies (only with your consent)
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd) | Distinguishes visitors and sessions to produce aggregated statistics about how the website is used. | 2 years |
| _clck, _clsk, CLID | Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd) | Records how visitors interact with pages (clicks, scrolling, page views) as anonymised heatmaps and session recordings. | 1 day to 1 year |
| MUID, ANONCHK, MR, SM | Microsoft | Used by Microsoft Clarity to recognise the same browser across visits and check that the data is processed correctly. | 1 session to 1 year |
Google Analytics runs with advertising features switched off. Microsoft Clarity masks text that you type into forms, so form contents are not recorded. Both providers may process data outside the United Kingdom under their own safeguards; see the Google Privacy Policy and the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
5. Your choice and how to change it
When you first visit the website, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject all optional cookies, or turn statistics and experience cookies on or off separately in the settings. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the website works the same either way.
You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we remove the analytics cookies the website can access and stop loading the analytics tools.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the website, such as the contact forms, from working.
6. Search engines and embedded content
We use Google Search Console to see how the website appears in Google Search. It does not set cookies on your device. Links to other websites, such as our social media pages, are covered by those websites' own cookie policies.
7. Your rights
Where cookies involve personal data, you have rights under UK and EU data protection law, including the right to access, correct or delete your data and to object to its use. Our Privacy Policy explains these rights. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK or to your local supervisory authority.
8. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the cookies on the website change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
